The Core 2 Duo MacBooks land
Posted in Apple by Dan at 10:26 am

We all knew it would happen, just a matter of time. Apple just announced the Core 2 Duo MacBooks. The newly revved machines sport either a 1.83 GHz or 2.0 GHz processor for the white model, or a 2.0 GHz processor for the black model. Pricing starts at $1,099

I just ordered mine!!!
Core2 Duo 2GHz
80GB hard drive upgrade (45 USD)
2Gbs of Ram (from newegg) 250 USD
Mighty mouse
Apple USB Modem (I’m on dial up at home)
The computer was only 1199 USD because I got the student discount
W00T!
hopefully these won’t have the RSS syndrome meh.
Boo, makes my two month old Macbook look old fashioned!
As far as RSS goes, a coworker has that problem and ran the test found at http://macbookrandomshutdown.com/ and his would shutdown. He applied the new firmware upgrade and now the test does not fail. Perhaps they have found the culprit.

DAMN IT! I just got a maxed out white Macbook last week! ARRRRRRRRRRRGH!
LOL?! How dumb can you be to buy a MacBook right after the Pros have been upgraded… Sorry, but really… lol
TO Ryster:
Return it to the store. Apple will let you swap it for the new C2D MB.
david,
unless he did a CTO, he said maxed out… which means he might have installed ram and HD in it as well. you can’t return CTO (configure to order) models.
When are the Mini’s gonna get the upgrade? I want to build that home theater system we’ve all been dreaming of….
Woehoe!
Hoping to get one soon :)
