Hacking Democracy posted online

If you missed the countless replays on HBO, “Hacking Democracy” is now posted online. It is an interesting documentary, but a blind man can see the political slant and bias. The hacking methods are questionable at best, and when watching this the viewer must be skeptical.
Do you agree or disagree with this video? Warning, it will consume over an hour of your life.
You know, although there’s definately a bias, its really scary if the experiment they pulled off (hacking the memory card to stack the vote) wasn’t staged – which I honestly dont believe it was, this is a company that keeps its “secure” program on a public http://FTP...
Interesting, I just downloaded the torrent last night, haven’t watched it yet but I do believe that these voting machines are slightly corrupted if they’re not held accountable.

Casting doubts on these film makers via ‘bias’ seems disingenuine when Diebold CEO writes a letter to Ohio republicans stating “committed to helping Ohio deliver its electoral votes to the president next year”.
Congratulations. This is one of the few even-handed reviews of the documentary I have been able to find. I found the evidence presented intriguing but totally unconvincing. While I am certainly no Republican, and certainly open to the idea that elections can be rigged in the computer age, the evidence presented was so ludicrously biased it was useless to all but confirmed conspiracy nuts.
As the reviewer mentioned, the documentary doesn’t even try to hide its political leanings at all. I mean, at least fool us a little. No chance. In fact, its clear from the outset that the women they follow around in their attempt to prove that democracy has been “hacked”, and the ones they set forth as sympathetic figures, clearly want that result from the beginning. These women aren’t investigating anything. They are looking for evidence to justify their already held beliefs. Its like following Evangelists to prove the existence of Christ.
Even more damning is the documentaries clear implication that Republicans are the sole party responsible for this systematic fraud, and also the sole party who benetited from it. This makes the documentary completely worthless. It undermines any credibility the documentary might have had as an informative investigation. I mean, are we to believe that only Republicans are smart enough to hack the system? Or that if the system is so vulnerable, there is not one Democratic computer nerd out there mischievous enough to flip a few numbers? Give me a break. Exit polls tend to show that those most comfortable with technology lean Democratic.
My point is, if there were true incidence of fraud and abuse, I would expect to see them occuring on, and benefiting, both sides. Had they proven this, I would have been more inclined to believe their central charges.
As it stands, all I believe is HBO aired a psuedo propaganda film that is of little value to me at all.
