Watch out Parallels, VMware Fusion (beta) is out

Virtualization software on OS X – e.g. running Windows without restarting – is one hot topic when it comes to Intel powered Mac hardware. For the most part, Parallels Desktop seemed like the only way to go if the thought of rebooting via Boot Camp seemed like a little too much work. For the most part, Parallels is spot on. I’ve managed to run Windows without any sort of problems on OS X even being “lucky” enough to recreate that dreaded BSOD (blue screen of death)!
Not to be outdone, VMware recently launched their Fusion virtualization software to beta users. VMware definitely did their homework and released an awesome beta sure to compete strongly with reigning champ Parallels.
Boasting the ability to runn Windows on any Intel-based Macintosh, Fusion also offers the functionality of drag ‘n drop between OS X and the guest OS, 64-bit Mac Pro & iMac support, support for multiple virtual processors (why put those processors to waste?), and USB 2.0 file transfers.
