desert eagle on sale on ebay

Beautiful piece, a very powerful statement about the Iraq Mess. Bidding starts at 11,000,000 or roughly the hourly cost of the Iraq war according to the Congressional Budget Office report of July 13, 2006.

Currently on sale ergh auction on eBay [via Metafilter]. Starting bid set for $11,000,000? Ouch. Check out the firing option on that Desert Eagle. Looks like a definite collectors item.

As if eBay doesn’t have enough junk auctions taking up space…

I hate how this site has become so politicized. Stick to the tech related stuff. No one gives a shit about your political viewpoints. If you want to talk about what a douche bag bush is go start another blog.

  3. Wally says:

e-Bay ought to zapp this under it’s TOS. This isn’t a real auction…

  4. Derek says:

I’m sure it has been reported already.

I enjoyed the post. Complacence is a most acute political statement, Mike. Life’s too short and important for self-censorship, especially on one’s own website! And, okay, admittedly odds are low, but that Desert Eagle could possibly fetch the sum. It’s certainly generated interest. And there’re more than a few George Soros types out there.

    it’s a painting?
I thought it was real when I first saw it lol

This isn’t an original idea, I had this on the bottom of a skateboard when I was in middle school. I can’t remember what brand had it.

Mike, no one ever said this website is supposed to be only about tech stuff. True, it does feature a lot, but as the creators have said, REPEATEDLY, they acknowledge that they have a bias, and they ARE going to report on things with a biased opinion. It’s not a bad thing either. If they want to talk about stuff like this, it’s their prerogative. If people like you don’t like it, instead of bitching, why don’t you go to a different blog, or better yet start your own. Or even better yet, take all that bitching, shove it up your ass, and then step in front of a steamroller.
