Two major acquisitions were announced today. Did you hear? First on the table to collaborative work suite Jotspot which was snatched up by – surprise, surprise – Google. The collaborative wiki, calendar, spreadsheets, and note taking service is a great addition to the Google team strenthing the idea that Google is taking aim at a full bore online suite suitable for mobile teams. Desktop software is so going to be 2006 by next year. Heck, I’ve migrated online. Despite constant privacy minded shaping by a good friend, I couldn’t resist the tempation of having a “mobile” workspace so to speak.

The second acquisition head turner comes by way of Reddit and CondeNet (Wired). The digg-like link / news team will be relocating to the office of Wired.
