The 32 GB Flash Drive?!

WHA?! What is up with this nuttyness? The Kanguru Flash Max is a ruggedized USB “thumb drive” that stores a whopping 32 GIGABYTES of data. The cost? $1499.99. Can you imagine accidentally losing it? But not to be outdone, there is a 64 Gigabyte version available for $5,739. That was more then my first car!
64GB: Insertion endurance: 5000 cycles (Min); WOW… only a $1 per insertion.
They must have multiplied both the price and the capacity by 1024 for sure! :p
The fact that such a USB drive exists, means that the technology to have higher capacity pen drives exists. Why aren’t there higher capacity drives on the market? (At reasonable prices obviously) Maybe the big IT names want to continue selling us these tiny drives and release slightly larger capacity increments every now and then, and then convince us to buy those, making a profit on ever increment – I smell a conspiracy.
WOW. Blows my 5GB Seagate UFO away.
Think would be a great time to post an article about how company’s should think about the few people with 5-10GB hard drives now a days. Why must 56K users be forced to download 20MB system updates? I really would like to know :P
