What if the real world had Growl enhancements?
This post was published 3 years 14 days ago and its content may not be valid anymore.Growl (oddly down at the moment) is an OS X only system notification system which hooks into many of the currently available applications for OS X users. Those that are familiar with the utility will undoubtedly recognize the humor in the above video clip. Since the Growl site seems to be down, feel free to peruse the interview concerning Growl on the DrunkenBlog.
This was kind of humorous, but i fond the sound effects pretty juvenile.
More useful and realistic notifications for the video would have been things like:
“Door opened”
“Door closed”
“Car Engine started”
“Car RPM dangerously high”
…and so on and so on… this guy totally missed the point of the GROWL notification system: it’s to give you real-time and useful information… not to tell you some girl has AIDS or that the porn is on channel 180-whatever.
