Premature Firefox 2.0 announcement

Apparently, the blogosphere the world over was oh so guilty yesterday. That Firefox 2 release download announcement that spread like wildfire across the net – you know, the one I posted about here – was actually a premature announcement created by a few souls who decided to announce the FTP directory. Yes, announcements for the download directory were spread across the net even before Mozilla could sign off on the action.

For that reason, I apologize to the Mozilla team for contributing to the premature / un-permitted announcement which I posted to the front pages of UNEASYsilence. Thanks to Josue for setting me straight pointing me towards a few words from the Mozilla developers themselves.

Never again will I fall victim to the announcements from “other” sources without referencing the developers themselves. Lesson learned.
