Have a Mac? Just Flick’it

If you are a digital photographer and Flickr user Flick’it is essential. It is not only cool looking, but is very functional. Basically, just drag some photos in iPhoto and with the mouse button held down, hit F12 (or whatever your hot-key is set to activate Dashboard) and let the pictures go on top of the MacOS X widget.
Then Flick’it will automatically upload the pictures to flickr and also gives you the option to apply tags to the images.
If you use flickr…. even just occasionally, it’s definitely worth the download. And you can’t beat the price… it’s free!
I don’t undersand the use of these widget uploaders when users can easily install enhancements to their photo management applications which allow direct uploads. No need to drag images. iPhoto and Aperature users have access to these plugins for free via Flickr as it is.
Derek: Really? FlickrExport is nice, but is over $20 US. PictureSync works, but is kinda clunky. Any others you can think of?

Derek, the only iPhoto/flickr plugin I saw on that page was FlickrExport, which as mentioned, is $20. The rest were just separate applications that you can drag and drop photos in to (like any good Mac app should let you).
I personally like these widgets, because I can access other services, like imageshack, which don’t have enough of a following to make an iPhoto plugin, but someone was kind enough to create a widget. Granted, a plugin would be preferred, but I gotta use what’s available.
i don’t use iphoto and do all my work with photoshop and bridge.
when i’m done editing my photos i just drag them to 1001. i get to add tags and send the photos to my sets and groups.
i find this a nicer way to add photos, leaving almost no organizing to be done on flickr.
Wouldn’t it be easier to just select and email the pictures to your flickr email upload address.
I’m not a Mac guy, but I know iPhoto can email pictures.
Just save your flickr adress. You can even use the subject and body to add titles, tags, and descriptions. FREEEEEEEEE
I think people are missing the point here. What is the problem with people creating stuff like this and offering it for free? Some people like widgets more that programs. Some people like programs more than widgets. I will give it a try and if I like it, I will use it. If not, no harm. I will just delete it.
We Mac users used to be able to upload our pictures thru Flickr using an email address, worked great.
Now as of mid October, it has gone south, We can get upload our pictures as far as our Flickr accounts, but thats it.
Blogspot has locked us all out.
What is going on? We are all using our Flickr accounts as a blog, as it works very well with the uploading of pictures and text.
But we miss Blogspot, its unavailable to us to use any more except for plain text.
Can you help us reestablish the ability to post our pictures again to our blogs? If so, I will pass this information on very quickly, as we all are waiting for a solution.
