Crack Attack: Use the Blackberry as a USB modem on a Mac
This post was published 3 years 5 months ago which may make its actuality or expire date not be valid anymore. This site is not responsible for any misunderstanding.Alex King (Yes, of WordPress fame) decided that he was sick and tired of waiting for the cellphone company to come up with a way that Mac users could use DUN on their Blackberries.
So taking matters into his own hands he set up a bounty to crack a BlackBerry 8700 series device to work as a Bluetooth modem in Mac OS X.
Although nothing has been posted for the public yet, a development build did allow web browsing and email downloading. The hack works with T-Mobile, Sprint and Verizon (Cingular is not tested yet) – and we will post more details when the crack is online.
Wow! Dan pointing out magic for Blackberry users?! What’s next? I love Google t-shirts for Fridays? :p See I told you Blackberry’s are hot.
Yea, I’ll talk about Blackberries, but I’ll be long dead before I carry one.
TREO!
I myself have nuked on this bounty, Never could come up with the fix. I am inerested knowing how you go the USB modem to show in the Network port configurations. I almost there when I was given the apple usb Modem. My only concern now is to get my customers up and running. Do we have a ETA on the software patch, and a cost?
I have six customers who need this. And would also love to sell your patch on ebay, HEHHE. Please let me know when this comes out.
