Apple ships small batch of iPods with virus

This site is not responsible for any misunderstanding. That a way to take hit Windows where it counts. Just kidding. Apple had no intentions of purposefully exposing a small number of Windows users with the RavMonE.exe virus. Check out Apple’s official announcement. Thankfully, there have only been 25 reported cases to Apple concerning infected customers.
Apple goes through the steps necessary to cleanse your system of the virus had you been one of the unlucky < 1% of iPod Video customers who also happens to be running a Windows box.
What a horrible PR ass covering it must have been at Apple. From the makers of OS X, Windows users can now enjoy a little something extra pre-packaged within their iPods. Yummy.
nice marketing..
I wonder if the Zune will only function with the $350 Vista Ultimate.. :D
“we are upset at Windows for not being more hardy against such viruses”
omg.. for this part you may f**k yourself up crApple!
Well, I highly doubt the sh*tty zune (Which, By the way, does NOT deserve a capital letter) will run on anything except their “exclusive” Vista, and quite probably XP.
Apple have every right on the planet to claim they are oddly surprised that windows did not have the basic security to deal with the virus, afterall, if they are all so superior, why have they not yet produced a mac compatible PC OS, such as the new powermac. (Loads windows faster than windows loads itself!). Yes, indeed, windows may very well claim that it is Apple’s fault that the virus was on the iPod’s, and this is entirely true, But really, silly Apple, mistake or not, did they really think windows could handle a little threat?
Pffffft.
Liv, that is the weirdest, most backward logic I’ve heard in a long time. You sound like you have a chip on your shoulder that has nothing to do with OSs. You can’t blame Windows-based PC users for using Windows-based PCs. These people, most of them probably use Windows-based PCs in their office, or in their dorm, or at the computer cafe, or whatever, and so that’s what they’re comfortable using. And so that’s what they buy. And Apple makes iPods, iTunes, QuickTime, etc. for PC users as well as Mac users because they understand this. They’re not narrow elitists, leastwise not on the level that you seem to be.
I for one am glad that the Zune is out there for the same reason I’m glad that Linux/MacOS/Solaris/NetWare/etc. are out there. The iPod has a market monopoly right now similar to Microsoft’s a few years back. They’re ridiculously costly and so are the additional products you might buy to augment them. The market could use a little diversity. (Hell, that’s a big reason why Apple’s popular to begin with, isn’t it? It provides a viable alternative.)
