Nurse receives ticket for lewd Bush sticker
47 Denise Grier was within her constitutional right to display a bumper sticker which read “I’m tired of all this BUSH**”. Yet an officer felt it was within his right to hand out a $100 ticket. What a load of BUSH** eh?

I’ll be the first of probably many comments. The article said the ticket was thrown out by the judge a month later as the sticker law was deemed “unconstitutional” in 1990.
While it is a stupid and wrong reason to get a ticket, suing the county for “emotional distress” 7 months after it was dismissed is irritates me almost as much as the cop who wrote the ticket. Thats my two cents, but I’m sure others will say since it is within her rights to persue legal action- she should.
Also, for some reason every comment I make has to await moderation, so this may end up being the 4th or 5th comment.
I applaud this woman for filing suit – my only complaint is that she waited for so long. In a perfect world, she would sue the officer who ticketed her and he would be held liable for his judgement/actions.
Too often, the cops hired have an agenda but no intelligence. And we wonder why people have no respect for cops?
