Hide those unwanted Palm applications

I hate when a manufacturer preloads a ton of unnecessary software (aka crap) on a device. Whenever I get a new computer the first thing I do is wipe the factory install, and customize my own.

However with the Treo’s, Sprint and Verizon both built programs into the devices ROM that can’t ever be removed. As all your Treo powered authors will admit, it is very annoying.

Even though Sprint and Verizon went to great lengths to embed these little annoyances, there is still a cure to make those programs vanish, with a utility called “Invisible.” Invisible ‘hides’ any unwanted application from your list, with a simple to use interface and small footprint.

To use the program it couldn’t be simpler:

  • Launch Invisible
  • Find and select the application that you want to hide
  • Click the “Hide” button which will add a “+” sign next to the program and you’re done

  1. I’d very much like something like this for my Nokia N80 (Series 60 v3), does anyone know of anything? Alternatively does anyone know how I can pull the new N80 firmware upgrade, which should do the same thing, without a Windows machine?

  2. Steven says:

    like….intellisync?
