USB Batteries

This has to be the coolest invention I’ve seen this year. The USBCell from Moxia, is a no brainer for the AA battery operated society. These batteries are simply rechargeable AA battery on the outside, with a USB port that doubles as a ‘built in charger’. So if you are on the road, and you need a little charge, all you need to do is to plug the USBCell into any available USB port and you’re good to go. A pair of USBCell batteries can be picked up from U.K. only at the moment for £12.99. Expected in the US in the near future.
Sounds cool, but….. If I did the math right that’s about $25 for two batteries. And NiMH batteries have a memory effect, yes? So all the “topping off” I saw mentioned on their site sounds like it would die out quickly.
Still a really cool idea.
I agree almost completely with Jerry.
im shocked to see the USB end is small enough to be on a AA size thing. I just compared a AA and a USB, and the cap for this thing would need to be a tight fit, but the cap doesnt seem that much of a tight fit in the picture.
Holy shit what a no-brainer. But Jerry’s right, the price must drop!
