Apple will give you one Music Store freebie

Bookmark the following post for future reference just in case your entire “purchased” music library disappears. Apparently, Apple will grant customers one a complimentary “we restore all your lost music at the touch of this button” to restore any lost music as a result of an Apple software issue.

If you make a purchase from the iTunes Music Store, and something horrible happens and you lose all your music, Apple will give you a one-time only do-over to replace all of your purchased music, free of charge.

You know what else would be great Apple? How about when hardware fails, you push that magic button and give customers a one time replacement instead of forcing them to exist without their main computer for work, school, and personal life. How about that Apple?

they do that, of course in extreme cases, or when the PR is good.

If they didnt insist on using their horrible DRM they wouldnt have to do this.

I really do prefer the “Buy it and leave me the fuck alone” business model despite what the marketing monkeys at the record companies might think

Derek, sounds like someone is hella bitter.

Dankoozy, the DRM doesn’t stop you from burning CDs or making backup copies of your purchased music. Apple’s DRM really doesn’t stop anything other than copying your iTMS purchased music to more than 5 authorized computers. Which you could still burn to Audio CD and rip it right back into iTunes sans DRM.

It’s the lesser of two evils.
