Slingbox support for Mac, Symbian, and Treos this year?

The Slingbox is simply one of my favorite pieces of technology. However it is incompatible with my life. I need a Windoze machine to use the desktop client (YAY for Parallels), and a Windows Mobile device to use the mobile viewer, which simply doesn’t jive with my Treo 700P.

Then I came across this quote from Sling Media CEO: “Right now we support Windows and we ’re releasing the beta of the Mac client . We’ve also released the Windows Mobile Smartphone and Windows Mobile Pocket PC phone. Before the end of the year, we’ll support additional platforms – there’ll be at least two more OSs, so that means a whole bunch more operating devices.” [via]

It is rumored those two operating systems would be: Symbian and Palm (J2ME) smart phones.

Woo Hoo, there in nothing like place shifting my TiVo’ed shows. If you don’t know what the SlingBox is, I HIGHLY recommend you check them out.
