This, in my opinion, is a very controversial speech and thought this would solicit some lively debate here. Have at it.

  1. Piddle Paddle says:

Dude, I don’t think polarizing means what you think it means. On the other hand, the bilge scum that passes for the Bush administration and its sycophants do indeed know what polarizing means. Fucking twit.

  2. I really like Keith Olbermann. I haven’t seen much of him, but I think his opinion, at least in this video, is bang on.

  3. jeremiah johnson says:

Its all true, but I *LOVE*LOVE*LOVE* this quote most of all:

“When those who dissent are told time and time again … that the president is preserving our freedom, but that if we use any of that freedom we are somehow un-American; that if we merely question [the administration or its actions] that we have ‘forgotten the lessons of 9/11′, look at this hole behind me and ask ‘who has left this hole in the ground.’ We have not forgotten, Mr. President. You have.”

    100% awesome.

  4. BroncoBash says:

    *cheers*

  5. chad says:

its about time somone in big media stepped up to the plate and swung on the real issues…. no spin, no bullshit, no powder coating……

    THANK YOU MR. OLBERMAN!

I felt like he was speaking my mind

  6. Mike says:

goddamn that felt good. really, really good. the sad part is, they’re only words.

  7. Wash Jones says:

That was some pretty bold stuff. I dont think I have ever been as inspired by a speech made on network television.
Unfortunatly, I think that this speech will be weaponized against the democrats, I know the people from fox news will either quote selected parts to make the democrats look bad, or just not bring the speech up again. It is sad, but you know this great speech will be covered up, thats how screwed up and selective our media has gotten. If they don’t want us to see something, then by god we are not going to see it.

  8. Jerry says:

Am I the only one that can barely hear it? The volume button just seems to be on/off.

  9. biga says:

@jerry they recorded thevolume too low and the new youtube layout doesnt have any volume control.

any how. wow, this is one of the best bush whacking ive seen in a while. That almost beats out colbert and the white house.

  10. Emory says:

I completely agree with chad. It’s about god damned time that someone big stepped up to the plate. Enough of this gentle passive approach/ mild criticising of this adminstration crap. So far the only one that really hacked at him was Michael moore and he is hated because of it. If enough people finally make the public realize…. I applaud you Keith!

  11. Nathaniel says:

What?! Something surprisingly quality on MSNBC? That’s nearly as unbelievable as someone from corporate media actually saying these words.

  12. Lisa says:

    @Emory
The only reason Michael Moor is hated on for it is because alot of his facts clashed with each other or were just dead wrong. He had his head in the right spot, but it was a little lopsided.

I have dial up, so since everyone is like “yes, this is awesome” I will take the whateverr time it takes to load to give it a watch.

  13. Roger says:

    Lisa,

I think last week’s posting regarding Moore already proved to all of us that it’s not really fact-clashing or errors that make people hate him, it’s that “he is fat and just wants food.” Now that someone thin–and in mainstream media–has stated the obvious, maybe the tide really will turn?

  14. sal says:

Haha, you people think Oberman is some type of intellectual. Keep thinking that.

  15. Am I the only one who finds it ironic that sal (the previous commenter) doesn’t think Olbermann is right, yet the URL he/she lists as his/her website is ultimatestupidity.com?

  16. John W says:

Keith, buddy, I like you. But you’ve gone off the deep end. Just two comments:

Since when is the filling of this hole a presidential responsibility? He has left it to those most hurt and with the greatest at stake — the people of New York. Does dear Keith want a royal president to trump the input of those closest — those chosen to represent? Where, pray tell, is Ms. Clinton, Mr. Schumer? It doesn’t seem they share your outrage at the hole not filled. Surely they have more at stake than you, Keith, as they represent those most impacted.

Secondly, the diatribe against the VP’s opinion re: validating the terrorist strategy — why so heated a reaction? If I say your failure to lock your doors will likely result in a repeat burglary, are you angry with me? Keith’s reaction to the VP’s opinion says more about his emotional state than Cheney’s….

Sorry, Keith. A bold move, but an empty diatribe. Stick to your sassy presentation of the news — your ratings will improve.

  17. dov says:

9/11 has been ordered by the USA gov for sure..
to have some reasons to start the “war on terrorism”
bombed Afganistan to the ground, Bin Laden is nowhere..
attacked Iraq without UN admission, found no nuclear weapons at all..
they paid Saddam, now you can see his double on TV monthly, having fun with iraqi court..

so I think this is the biggest scam ever so far,
and I can hardly imagine, how can you eat this..
especially those, who have lost their beloved in the 9/11 attack,
    and wars in the middle-east..

greetings from Europe, and please, try to wake up!
