I am so sorry for the Family of Steve Irwin,It is a sad event.
I am always scared while watching his documentaries but I thot he knows best around the animals.I knew that one day a thing like this may occur but never thot death.RIP

Some of you are so disrespectful!!!!

This man did what he did because he knew these animals so well and was doing it for such a long time. He knew the dangers and even made comments in interviews that if he would ever die, he would want it on tape. He knew there would be a possiblility because animals can be unpredictable and if they feel the least bit intimidated that they could strike and kill someone. He knew the croc better than any animal and that was why he felt that he could have his child in his arms while being around them. He knew what to expect with them and that is why it wasn’t a croc and it was a stingray. Heck, it could have been any other animal, but I feel that he knew what he was up against when it came to crocs.

Please have a little more respect for the dead.

wow i can’t rap my mind around the fact that steve is gone .he brought some much to every one it just not seam right that a wonderful man like him is gine way befor his time he will be forever missed my thought and go out to his wife kids and family i will pray for you to find peace in this untimely death may he walk with god in the big animal zoo in the sky. god bless and thank for all you brought to so many people

Waltzing Matilda

That beautiful song was Australia to me
before “Crocodile Hunter” aired on TV

He was crazy, brash, exuberant and fun
I never saw another do what he’d done

A pioneer in his field, a man with fight
he brought a gorgeous Australia to sight

So full of dedication, enthusiasm and grit
for the sanctity of wildlife–his passion was lit

For the land and the animals his purpose was filled
yet I think too soon his bright, helping spirit was stilled

He cried for that which moved him and all that he loved
for the critters, his family on earth and his mother above

When I think of his passing I can scarce breathe
while I pray for his loved ones, as the world grieves

As tears fill my eyes so that I can not see
would someone play “Waltzing Matilda” for me

So who is really surprized? The guy was nuts and all of his so called ‘mates’ should have told him so a long time ago but they were too busy making money off this mentally ill person. I have lived near the ocean all my life and everyone here knows that sting rays deliver a mean and painful strike. An 8 foot ray is certainly able to kill a man.
