Dingbat fonts – Who uses these anyways?

dingbat sex fontSeriously, can anyone chime in with whether or not they use dingbat fonts on a semi-regular basis? What is the real reason why these come preloaded on computers? And why do I feel guilty whenever to try to convince myself to delete them from the hardrive?

    I use them from time to time. Obviously, I don’t use them to write out words, I just use individual letters as icons and stuff. Some of them are useful, but most of them are crap. I do wonder why they come pre-loaded on computers, given their utter uselessness to most people.

    Never understood them until I started doing graphics stuff. But for the common man? Useless…

    Dingbats that come pre-installed are used in the OS and its applications :)
