A couple of days ago we covered the “TrackMeNot” plug-in for FireFox that protects your search data from big search engines, but what about the lowly Internet Explorer users? Don’t worry we love you too!

Lost in the Crowd takes the idea of TrackMeNot by not masking you IP address and sends random queries to Yahoo, Google, AOL, etc all the time, therefore hiding your real queries, but does it on the cookie level.

How? “Lost in the Crowd” captures your web browsing cookie (with your permission), and transmits random search data on your behalf to your search engine of your choice. It even tells you what data is being submitted.

Kinda cool, and using the service couldn’t be easier. All you need to do is drag a link to your favorites bar, click it, and then you are protected.

Try It
