Apple and Creative Settle
Apple has agreed to pay $100 million to Creative Technology for its patented technology to use in the iPod, settling all legal disputes between the two companies.
Apple can get back some of the $100 million payment if Creative is able to secure licensing deals with other MP3 player manufacturers, and Creative has agreed to join Apple’s “Made for iPod” program as an authorized seller of iPod accessories. Meaning their could be potential for Apple to get kickbacks on Creative hardware.
