DELL recalls 4.1 million batteries

You might think that Apple laptops are hot, but DELL laptops can sometimes be on fire. 4.1 million batteries released by DELL sold in laptops and others sold separately are being recalled by the computer giant. The efflicted models are the Latitude and Inspiron laptops and Precision mobile workstation. (Picture is of a Dell Latitude D410 which caught fire last July)

Dell arranged the recall in co-operation with the US Consumer Product Safety Division (CPSD), which reported logging six ‘incidents’ involving batteries made for Dell by Sony. No one was hurt in the incidents, according to the CPSD. [via]
