Add feeds from Firefox to your external reader
Although the integrated RSS reader found within Firefox works for lightweight reading habits, hardcore RSS readers are probably more inclined to use a dedicated external reader. Koz Codes offers a great Firefox extension which automates the process of adding feeds to an external reader.
Feed Your Reader allows you to use the RSS Autodiscovery in firefox to launch external aggregators, such as Nick Bradbury’s FeedDemon or web based aggregators such as Feed Lounge. By default, FYR uses the feed:// protocol allowing a wide range of aggregators to be supported. However, FYR can be also be configured to support various web based aggregators and desktop applications which do not support feed://.
For those interested, the Firefox 2.0 Beta 1 release offers similar functionality out of the box.
I love me some decent RSS reading. My personal external RSS reader recommendations? NewsFire on OS X, and FeedDemon on the Windows side.

I used to use a RSS aggregator (shouldn’t it be named that way?) on my computer but since I tried bloglines.com I am thinking that a host based RSS aggregator is only needed for local RSS feeds like feeds from the local intranet of a company.
Web-based RSS aggregators like bloglines enables the users to read their news from any internet attached computer in the world. I’ll never switch back to host absed aggregators *g*
