Free WinRAR key

Last Sunday WinRAR decided to have a one day free-for-all promotion, giving away license keys to anyone who was on thier mailing list. So obviously, if you were not on their mailing list you had no idea of the free giveaway.
With promotion expired, there is still a way to get this free key. Here’s the trick, they sent the same key to all 40,000 users that benefited from the promotion, and now that key is available for download from Simtel (one of WinRAR’s partners in this).
- Download the key: WinRAR Free Key 3.51
- Now go to WinRAR’s official site and download version 3.51
- Install WinRAR 3.51, go to where you downloaded the key (rarkey.rar) and unpack it. You’ll get a rarreg.key that you’ll have to copy in Program Files-WinRAR (the installation folder for WinRAR). After that you should see Registered to “PCA Special Offer”
sweet, i added my email address to the list, but i never got an email last week.
oh well, this worked easy and great!
It also works if you put the key there first :P

Le jour de distribution, j’ai tenté d’obtenir la version gratuite, mais leur site était hors-service. J’ai téléchargé la dite version despuis un site miroir et j’ai envoyé un message chez Winrar pour obtenir la clé gratuite. Ils m’ont répondu quelques jours après me disant que la distribution gratuite n’était plus valide, la date était dépassée et que si je voulait acheter leur produit, il me donnerait 30 % d’escompte. Donc pas de gratuit !

Why not just download 3.51? The link is offered here on this page, just use that one, it does all the same stuff.
Works perfecly – no Virusus, did get tracking cookie during download – easy to remove with Ad-Aware SE (Free download and infinite use).
i have already installed it but i dont know what to do next and where to find

This key thingy won’t work for any other versions. Especially since this key is over a year old.

all you have to do is install 3.51 then unpack rarkey.rar then drag the file into the folder you installed winrar in ex” C:/program files/winRAR ”
and it works.
