If the idea of having applications automatically closed or opened depending on your current wireless / wired network sounds enticing, check out the shareware (14-day demo) – network location awareness – application by the name of WiLMa.

WiLMa is a Mac OS X utility to change system settings depending on what wireless network you connect to. You can manage your Apple Mail SMTP servers, default printers, desktop pictures and more. You’re also able to activate a WiLMa profile at any time through the system-wide WiLMa menu.

Essentially, your wireless network can control your work environment on OS X. No more tedious opening or closing specific applications when you arrive at the office, or log on to your home network. WiLMa even goes as far as selecting specific printers depending on your network location. Definitely a time saver for those that have different setups for specific internet networks.
