Dan:
- Leopard Preview for Developers (Expect it on BitTorrent that night)
- Mac Pros with two Core 2 Duo processors (Available in 3 weeks)
- New screens with a higher contrast ratio and built in iSight
Derek:
- Revised housings for the MacBook Pro
Any other predictions?
What I really want to see:
A Mac Tower with two Core 2 Duo chips, each core hyperthreaded.
Physical cores: 4
Logical cores: 8
Can’t wait for a Developer Leopard preview, just for the fact it’ll be all over BitTorrent so fast.
After the non-existent birthday that was only saved by the launch of bootcamp a few days later, I want to be blown away.
Core 2 duo with blue ray would be nice.
A new casing for the Mac pro… shiny black like the new laptop? ;)
Dumb predictions…
- An announcement that proper games are now coming to MAC would be cool.
- A proper video Ipod (wifi?) – long overdue. Who cares if you have movie downloads with the majors if you can only play them on the current ipod? It’s tiny! Oh yeah, and pimp up the hard drive for hd content.
- The most rumoured tablet/pda with intuitive touch screen or a tablet laptop (dont really care about the mac phone rumours).
But most of all
- Something that nobody has thought about yet, something everyone will want to buy.
Oh yeah…
And they will announce that uneasysilence is THE reference and show it as their default page on Leopard.
I don’t believe they’ll make a huge revision to the MBP enclosures. The PB and MBP enclosures are too damn popular for apple to make any significant changes.
The Mac Pro however is itching for one, as many people are dissatisfied with it.
Many people think it is ‘too big’, as it cannot fit on a standard 19″ rack for servers, which the PMG4s did. However, The physical design for the rumoured specs requires the machine to get bigger, so it’ll be interesting to see what apple do.
I happen to know first-hand one thing that will be announced…
The new iPod Video 7,000,000 terrabyte model with built-in ATM, iCoffee Maker and iGeorge Forman Grill.
That’s a taste of the new announcements anyway. The rest will be much more interesting!
