Dennis Hwang? Silly you, why don’t you know who Dennis Hwang is? Most, if not all of us, have run into a little of Mr. Hwang’s work on multiple occasions. Oftentimes, these “run-ins” occur in and around the holiday season. Why you ask? Well Mr. Hwang the the artist behind the creative Google logos which often rotate during significant calendar dates.

Dennis Hwang may be the most famous unknown artist in the world — his work doesn’t hang in galleries or museums, but it’s been viewed hundreds of millions of times.

The 28-year-old webmaster designs the whimsical logos that decorate Google.com’s otherwise Spartan Web site on special occasions.

The most amazing part of the story is that Mr. Hwang is not employed by Google as a logo artist. Rather, a minuscule 20% of project time is dedicated to designing logos while the rest is devoted to general Google hackery. What a job.
