Go PRO with AIM for free

If you’re using the official AIM client on Windows, at least go PRO with that bloated excuse of an application. AIM Pro is now offered as a free download on the AIM website. So what’s the difference between this Pro client and the free version? Microsoft Outlook integration, added security measures, and one-click WebEx.
Not too shabby if you ask me. WebEx sounds promising as a collaborative tool for professionals and students alike. The ability to edit the same documents in real time with contacts sounds very promising indeed. Kind of reminds me of Microsoft Live Messenger.

Still running AIM 4.8 from http://www.oldapps.com it runs great, fast, and oh yeah no adds!
same here ;)
I’m stilling running ancient versions just because they are sooo much better than the crap out there now.
I’ve used WebEx for business presentations before and it’s pretty nice. However, it isn’t free. Despite AIM Pro being “powered by” WebEx, you still have to pay to take full advantage of WebEx.
Thomas, thanks for that tip about WebEx. I have now returned to my usual mentality concerning the AIM client. And to think I thought AIM would support something like collab tools for free…
Instead of conjecture, why not go to aol.com/aimpro and try the bits? You will find that the one-to-one webex stuff is indeed included for free (and done as a painless one click event you can do anytime in the midst of an IM dialog).
I must admit it is much better then AOL’s regular AIM product for consumers.
