Firefox 2.0 Beta officially released

This site is not responsible for any misunderstanding.Forget the somewhat unreliable nightlies, Mozilla has officially released its Firefox 2.0 Beta 1. However, it is important that you understand the risks of running this fresh beta. Some, if not all, of your favorite extensions may not yet be updated to support Firefox 2 Beta 1.
Firefox 2 Beta 1 is a developer preview release of our next generation Firefox browser and it is being made available for testing purposes only. Firefox 2 Beta 1 is intended for web application developers and our testing community. Current users of Mozilla Firefox 1.x should not use Firefox 2 Beta 1 and expect all of their extensions and plugins to work properly.
So why should you consider running the latest offering? How about text box spell checking? I was growing very impatient waiting for a means in which to run spelling checks with Firefox on an Intel Mac.
The development version of the Spellbound extension has been spell checking my textboxes for months. There’s a nice red line under “textboxes.”
Unless they’ve had a recent release within the last two weeks, the Spellbound extension does not work on Intel Macs.
