P.S. the REAL hip hop culture frowns on the main stream hip hop culture you see on MTV and worship so blindly.

Hip hop used to be about getting your message out, and giving young inner city kids a voice… now its about the size of your tires on your car and how no matter what you’ll shoot someone…

OK, I have to come to the rappers defense here. Tis spring I worked as a Production assistant on HOME OF THE BRAVE, a film by Irwin Winkler ad shot in Spokane Washington. Now I am neither a fan of the genre of music or his music, I couldn’t Quote one lyric, but I am a fan of the man. HE is nice, quiet, down to earth and serious about the craft. And a far as a businessman, I beleive it, he’s making the leap into film, and while get rich or die trying wasn’t a huge sucess, he’s not quiting, in fact he’s moved towards art house film. This is the same director as DELOVELY and LIFE AS A HOUSE! Plus he was always freindly and gratious not oly with fellow cast members, but crew, extras and the look-e-lous out and about on location.

50 cent – a ‘musician’ not in it for the music. When will people realise that having the media machine making vast sums of money off your back and paying you a tiny portion does not make you a ‘businessman’? Jobs doesn’t ‘get’ 50 cent – he gets how to make money off him. Shame on both of them. And 50 Cent isn’t making a foundation – what a pile of self-indulgent bullsh!t. He’ll be around less time than one of Puff Daddy’s nicknames.

I can’t imagine a guy who in one of his songs says “forget the feature feature I don’t wanna rap wit’ cha’, brought my knife in the club cause I came to scrap wit’ cha’ ” talking business… or technology… I really hope Jobs doesn’t buy into the hype that has become hip hop culture.
