Personal Cellphone Booth

Gone are the days of phone booth, here are the days of the obnoxious cellphone. What if you could still have a cellphone but use it in a phone booth. Well that would take some craftyness.

Today, all of us are exposed numerous times throughout the day to others’ (aka strangers) private phone conversations while we are innocently waiting for the metro, walking on the sidewalk, or even while eating inside restaurants. NYU student Jenny Chowdhury designed and stitched together a wearable cell booth that starts off as a backpack and then unfolds to create a personal cocoon to hold your secret conversations.[via]

Of couse since it is done by a college student there is some tkind of political message:

“The project prompts people to take stock in how cell phone technology has altered the ways in which we communicate with each other and the environment surrounding us.”
