Balmer puzzled by Windows problem
It seems Steve Blamer moonlights as a computer technician. At a friend’s wedding reception for one of his friends Steve was asked if he would mind taking a look at a really slow Windows computer.
Steve personally, spent almost two days trying to rid the PC of worms, viruses, spyware, malware and severe fragmentation without success. As expected the billionaire couldn’t solve the problem and brought it to the attention of Microsofts team of top engineers, who spent several days on the machine, finding it infected with more than 100 pieces of malware, some of which were almost impossible to get rid of.
Hmmmmmmmm, makes you kinda think.

… I hate when people ask me to fix their computers…
I guess the title shoud be “Balmer puzzled by Windows problemS”. HAHA! Would have been hilarious to be there. Not only would Steve have been pissed off due to the fact that someone asked him to look at a PC during a wedding, but having to spend the next 2 days keying away with no success… must be painfull.
I bet the friend will be showing his wedding photos on iPhoto pretty soon.
Three simple words- Get A Mac.
Yeah… it makes me kinda think…. if you dumb enough to download all of them then you deserve those problems. Things dont just magicaly become installed on a computer, the user as to actively download them, or click on them or what not. Its entirely the users fault. There are plenty of people out there who have no problems simply because they arnt morons.
i agree with mike, to a point…it is generally the end user’s fault for 90% of the malware/worms installed on their computers.
however, it is still ms’ fault for making the software buggy, and full of holes.
as for the person who asked balmer, that person is an idiot. first, how many ceos of companies know how to fix the things their compaines make?
im supprised that he just didnt save the important things, reformat, and pass it off as being fixed.
As the other Mike said, it is generally the users fault. However that really is no excuse. If you buy a computer system you should be able to use it without having to worry about what you click on destroying your data or locking you out or making your computer run like a tortoise.
It only takes one mistake to open the floodgates…
Yes, Macs are far better AT THE MOMENT.. this may change.. hopefully Apple will learn from MS’ mistakes rather than repeating them. Although in recent months this doesn’t seem to be the case!
