This site is not responsible for any misunderstanding.Apple users don’t get to have all the fun. Apparently, IBM ThinkPad users can enjoy the “convenience” of smacking their ‘pads’ to switch desktops. I almost forgot many of the newer IBM shipped its computers with motion sensors to protect their hardrives.
- Requirements:
- A ThinkPad with the IBM Active Protection System
- The hdaps kernel module (if sudo modprobe hdaps fails, you’re not qualified)
- The wnck Python module, provided by gnome-python (if python -c “import wnck” fails, you’re not qualified either)
- An EWMH compliant window manager (most modern WMs are)
- The smack.py script
Any [original] black “book” [notebook] users willing to try this one out? If interested, grab the required files and look through the write-up for more details.
