The new slick glossy screened MacBook has been released by Apple this morning. The newest menber of the Intel family sports an Intel Core Duo Intel processor at either 1.83GHz or 2.0GHz, FrontRow (and remote), a built-in iSight, a 13.3 inch “glossy” display (I’m not a fan of those screens). As expected it features the Magsafe power adapter, but also a latch-less, magnetic closing lib. As far as the specs it has an Intel GMA 950 graphics processor with 64MB of DDR2 SDRAM shared with main memory, ans Airport Extreme.

Oh yea, it comes in black too!

The 1.83GHz (combo drive) and 2.0GHz (Super Drive) models are available in only in white for $1,099 and $1,299. If you want black, its gonna cost you $1,499. Yikes!

i dont like it, i prefer the 12″ ibook than the 13″ macbook, is more “portable”. but…

Why the hell black has to be 200 dollars more expensive if the only dif between it and the white one is 20 gb more in the HD? The HELL, that’s not worth 200 dollars.
Being “black” doesn’t mean making it expensive… Ew… Disapointed Apple, absolutely disapointed…

Wow. Amazing. The rumors actually came true. I’m surprised that the black has the extra premium on it. I don’t see the black iPod costing more than the white. What gives?

i totally agree derek, apple should release a black macbook thats exavtly like the white macbook, cause, i wont a black one.
i could do without the glossy screen, but if its all there is, i guess i can live with it….

    now

Somehow, i just see it as an ibook in black and white (and of course with intel)…i’ll keep my money.

It was just a week ago that I was pointing out how all these new Windows laptops are coming with glossy screens and how much they suck because of glare. And, now, this. I don’t get it. Can someone explain it to me?

  7. viperguy says:

Wth is a glossy screen anyways…
I didn’t read good coments about it lol… But still don’t know the dif between it and normal screens… Any lights please?

The glossy screen is supposed to give the screen a “glass” like effect. It supposedly makes the images more saturated with deeper blacks. I’ve seen this on a few HP laptops and it’s actually really nice. Don’t know how glare would affect it though…
