This post was published 3 years 6 months 18 days ago and its content may not be valid anymore.I never got StarWars, not that much into SciFi at all so I never fully understood WHY people were angry at Lucas when he realized the first three Star Wars on DVD. So to appease these viewers, or as I take it to make more money, Lucas is rereleasing the first three Star Wars movies on DVD.
The original theatrical versions of the three earliest “Star Wars� films are finally coming to DVD Sept. 12, two years after diehard fans blasted Lucasfilm Ltd. for releasing only the digitally modified “Special Edition� versions of the celebrated trilogy in a boxed collection.
This time, the three films will be available individually and appear on DVD exactly as they did in their initial theatrical runs � Star Wars in 1977, The Empire Strikes Back in 1980 and Return of the Jedi in 1983.
the updated versions included some unneccesary footage that really only added disconnection to the story. The cgi effects only add noise to the frame and the viewer ends up looking at the creatures instead of the characters.
I never got around to buying the first boxed set, but I will get this one. I fondly remember the first movie at age 10…
