Hello Helio

This site is not responsible for any misunderstanding. After so much hype, the eagerly anticipated Helio service has launched. I must say even though it has no network of their own, which makes me nervous, their phone design is slick.
For those out of the know, Helio is the latest wireless reseller (I believe it is Sprints wireless network), and is a joint venture between Earthlink and SK telecom.
Helio has some very unique features. For example: You pay for one package, and you use as much as you want. Their phones (launching with two) are pure 3G video and music streaming with 2.2 inch, 262K-color high-resolution QVGA LCD displays, removable memory, and a 2.0 megapixel camera with digital zoom and flash for capturing pictures and video. Also, Helio is the only cellular service that has access to a mobile version of MySpace, feeding the internets latest addiction.
Costs? The ‘Hero’ slider will be $275 and the ‘Kickflip’ will be $250. All-In packages start at $85 for 1,000 anytime minutes and goes up from there.
Now the question is whether or not the internet access includes tethering with laptops. Sounds like an interesting deal though. Aside from the minutes, the packages basically have unlimited media usage.
Sprint offers tethering for like $60 a month I think, so I imagine if Helio is associated with Sprint, they’d offer a similar thing.
I don’t think they are associated, I just think they are leasing a network.
