Guess what Microsoft employees use for “Search”

Surprisingly, most search queries originating from the ‘98052′ zip code – Microsoft campus in Redmond, WA for those that don’t know – use Google. Whodathunk huh?

A staggering 66.7% of search traffic goes through Google rather than MSN’s paltry 1.27%. Where’s the in house team spirit guys?! Now I know what the MS employee next to me on the bus is using for searching the net. Google! I’m scratching my head here.

Could you imagine an office promoting brand awareness by forcing employees to utilize their own product rather than the competitors? Bill, I think it’s time to start pushing Live search on the team eh? Wait a minute, Mr. Bill Gates, what are you using at home?

I don’t understand what your point is here. Google is the most popular search engine in the world. Microsoft campus is part of the world…so….suprise, most people there use Google.

This doesn’t say anything about loyalty or team spirit or anything like that. Do you think MS *should* force their employees to use MSN? Should they block Google? What would either of those two things accomplish?

Do you think MS employees should pretend like Google doesn’t exist, and assume that MSN search is the best simply because they work for MSN?

It sounds like more anti-MS propaganda to me.

sounds to me like its just the employees acknowledging that MSN search is a piss-poor search engine in comparison to google.

It’s just funny how Microsoft won’t use their own stuff.

I’m sorry, but boohiss you seem to be taking posts too seriously eh? Did you notice how I slyly inserted that line break between the “content” and the question(s)? Seriously though, whether the stats are real or not, the fact that Redmond as a city having such a small percentage of internet users – including the MS campus – using MSN vs Google is amusing.
