Remove the 100 song cap on your iTunes phone
This post was published 3 years 10 months 25 days ago which may make its actuality or expire date not be valid anymore. This site is not responsible for any misunderstanding. If you are one of the few to have an iTunes Music Phone (ROKR, SLVR) it is more then frustrating to have a 100 song limit on the phone. What is with THAT restriction? A patch was developed to remove that 100 song cap, and make the new limit 1000 songs. Now if they could only find a way to make the USB 1.0 port a USB 2.0 port we are good to go!

Of course it goes without saying that this hack, along with any other is not supported by Motorola, and has the potential for bad mojo on your phone. Although I have found no reports of any problems, it is important to be aware of this fact. With that said, lets blast the 100 song cap off of this phone.
To start you NEED a PC (or Bootcamp) and the patch
1. Run MotoMidMan (version 0.35 or higher) and delete corelet (previous version of iTunes), restart mobile phone (Tip: Use Restart button).
2. Press “install” in MotoMidMan and select iTunes jad file.
3. Restart phone again, in MotoMidMan right click iTunes and select “Attributes”, remove all attributes.
4. Restart mobile phone, in MotoMidMan go to iTunes “Attributes” and select only “Corelet”.
5. Restart and enjoy.
Let us know of your success, if you attempted it.
So what’s the actual real use battery time on these phones when listening to your music library? Does anyone use these phones as an MP3 player replacement?
I plug in my SLVR L7, and the removable disk folder opens, but everytime i open up MotoMidMan, the folder disappears, and its as if my SLVR disconnects.
Something because of MotoMidMan? someone should host a working version of the program..
Worked great! Now if someone would relieve it of the 192k mp3 quality cap…
The same thing happened to me. Everytime I open MotoMidMan, the computer thinks I have disconnected the SLVR.
Cannot get the itunes file from rapid share. Says that it is forbidden received complains and has been deleted. Can someone send the jad file to abubica86@hotmail.com? thanx for any help
My phone reads exactly like the screen, but iTunes still stops me from adding over 100 songs. HELLLLP!
Would this hack work on the Moto Razr v3i?
can someone send the patch to me also, and whats itunes reasoning behind caping it? doesn’t it kinda make them look like crap?
nealt900@hotmail.com
Apple put the cap on the phones because they didn’t want a Motorola product to compete with their iPod. Sucks, but thats any large corporation for you. But anyway, I have the V3i, but it is capped at 50 songs. Does anybody know if this patch will work on the V3i? Or, do you know where I could find such a patch? Thanks!
So does this work or not? There’s got to be more people than this that have attempted the install. It appears only one person was successful. Sounds like a hoax.
The patch DOES NOT WORK on a V3i, don’t even try it! I did and now iTunes is all messed up :(
can you update the link its dead
I tried this and lost everything. Itunes says it is corrupt every time I restart the phone and deletes it all over again. I am sorry I ever did it and I didn’t save my original seem to my desktop to recover it. That is a nice hint I thought about after trying everything I went through. I think it is a nice thing to try but I will never do it again.
This just doesnt work, the phone says 1000songs but iTunes doesnt let me load more then 100:(
