Nag, Nag, Nag Microsoft!

Starting today, Microsoft will push out a test tool to millions of users both in the US and abroad, that checks whether the a of Windows is using is properly licensed.
Following download and installation of the “Windows Genuine Advantage Notifications” tool, users of a pirated copy will see alerts at startup, login and during their use of the operating system. The alerts read: “This copy of Windows is not genuine; you may be a victim of software counterfeiting.” Those who use a legitimate copy of the software won’t see any messages, Microsoft said.
ANNOYING!!!!
But wait, people will be able to decline the tool download or uninstall it. They can also suppress the alerts by right-clicking on them when they appear during the running of Windows.
So, let me get this straight. Microsoft is pushing out a tool to say if you have a stolen copy of Windows that you can disable and suppress. Ohhhhh, sharp ones they are at Microsoft. SMART!
It’s obvious this tool isn’t intended for users who KNOW they have a pirated copy; it’s intended for users who suspect that they may have been sold a pirated copy of Windows. “…you may be a victim of software counterfeiting…â€ÂÂ?
Sounds like a very useful tool, especially if one lives in an area where piracy sales are especially high. I’m guessing Norway, Sweden, Czech Republic, Denmark, Israel, Poland, and Taiwan, just like TFA says.
Plus, it’s a message to users who are pirates: it’s not going to be as easy anymore. Pirates are ‘devil’ users anyway–they aren’t paying and they aren’t recommending Windows to anyone, so who cares if they go to Mac or Linux or stay on XP/2000?
Common?
We already have this in the UK, even if people run illegitimate copies, they dont care. There is almost a pride to having the ability to not have to pay for software. Kind of sad if you ask me. When a friend installed the WGA tool , he thought it may disable hard disks or something not a tsakbar balloon popup!
COMMON = C’MON, maybe?
come in Bulgaria everyone :) the free pirate country :) everything is free the latest movies, music, videos, apps and of course windows :) hahahah
FUCK MICROSOFT! they suck!
Maybe you can pirate stuff easier, but it’s Bulgaria…

We can only recommend that you legally purchase a copy of Windows. We do not endorse or condone defeating any copyright, or protections set forth by the content publisher.

thx mitko you helped me a lot… but can i still get updates?
Works !
Works for me, thx a lot :)
Windows restore works too :)
@ Dan, Nice of you to cover your back and keep Uneasy Alive. I used to use pirated copies of windows, but now i use a real license and of course the sticker to prove it. There is still a definite anarchist side to most pc users that either can’t afford or don’t want to pay high prices for an awful OS.
You kick a+s! Thanks very much!!
