Windows Mobile 5 SMS Threading

I have always been a Palm guy, simple as that. I have always had a Palm Pilot, but fell in love with the OS when the Treo 600 came out about two years ago. Granted, it is not the most robust operating system, with its multitasking abilities severely limited, but a stable OS none the less.

Lately however, I have felt more hampered using the PalmOS when seeing what tricks it rival, Windows Mobile, can do. I can’t directly Skype on the Palm OS nor can I use the Sling Mobile Player. There is ONE application has tied me to the Palm OS, and I will not switch until Windows Mobile fully figures this feature out. SMS conversation threading!

Anyone who has ever used text messaging KNOWS how messy it gets, and the PalmOS solves this problem with an Application that groups SMS messages into sent and received categories, and groups SMS messages from the same person together in a conversation, kinda like AIM. Extemely efficient.

Windows Mobile has nothing to do with that, I think there whole messaging system is ass backwards. Well, that changes today.

Some intrepid PPC user has modified the PPC O2 SMS product that DOES thread messages, so it could work in the US. But this is not a one trick pony, it allows you to also write an SMS and schedule its delivery, Send SMS messages to multiple recipients, and Search for SMS messages that contain a search string.

If you are a text messaging user, I would HIGHLY recommend you try this. Just remember that this is not fully supported software, so be sure you backup your phone regularly – since you don’t know what bad mojo this application can reap.
