Advanced image editing without software

Posted in Random by Derek at 11:00 am

Over the past week or so I’ve accustomed myself to using an awesome web service for all of my basic to advanced image editing needs. The service, which goes by the name of PXN8 offers users a handful of editing options including:

  • Zoom +/-
  • Fill Light
  • Cropping
  • Resizing
  • Rotating
  • Spirit Level
  • Red Eye Reduction
  • Teeth Whitening

All of the above within a web based service. No need to wait 10 – 30 seconds for Photoshop to fire up. Rather than loading your favorite image editing software for basic touch ups, why not utilize the web? Upload your images directly from your desktop, or pull images directly off of any web page.

derek that is a hella sweet find. i’ve been wanting something like this to do quick image edits when i’m on someone elses computer in my department that may not have photoshop or fireworks installed. all you need now is a thumbdrive with the portable version of firefox and access to the internet and you’ve got a super portable image editor with direct access to your flickr account!

Exactly! The service is by far one of the best out there. As an added bonus, the actual web utility is available for purchase to load on your own servers. The Flickr upload option is a nice tough. I would prefer that the service offer an alternative host though.

Another web based image editor worth checking is pixoh.

phixr.com has nicer flickr integration, and works with photobucket and fotolog as well. pxn8 annoyes with its ads, misplaced on firefox

I guess I should have tried loading pxn8 in something other than my Firefox install. ;)
