netgear skype handset

Dan pointed this slick looking device out to me yesterday. The NETGEAR Skype WiFi phone:

A mobile WiFi phone that enables you (without a PC) to make free Internet calls to anyone else in the world who has Skype.

That’s right. Skype minus the computer. A snazzy looking cellphone-like handset capable of wireless communications wherever WiFi is available. Not yet available, but pre-orders are being accepted.

I would be a little more sold on the $250 asking price had the device had support for services like the Gizmo Project.

I think what Dan is trying to say is that the price range for this dedicated Skype handset puts it in the category for business over pleasure use.

I did that with my PocketPC a few years ago…I got a lot of static…well, then again I was just using open waves :D
