Dark DIV Overlay - See More

Of late, there seems to be a surge in MySpace related profile hackery. For reasons unknown to me, the desire to create an appealing MySpace profile continues to be a much discussed topic in the blogosphere. For that reason, I felt it time to join the party. As a reminder of sorts, I felt it my duty to share a series of tutorials which I put together providing MySpace’rs with the knowledge necessary to bypass the default eyesore.

If true laziness is your thing, then you might want to check the complete download for the example HTML and stylesheet [Dark MySpace DIV Overlay]. Click the screenshot above to see what the example will get you.

Just kidding, didn’t expect you to be asian dude!!!!

Well I heard Tagworld is far better for costumization of the own page but that guides are just wicked, may try it.

  2. Dean says:

    Dude,can you help me ?!?!

I did that and it screwed up EVERYTHING.

I couldn’t even edit the profile normally anymore.

Everything after who i’d like to meet was at the bottom, the friends weren’t in pairs per row like on your Pic.And other stuff, can ya help me ?!

  3. Derek says:

Are you sure that you’re editing in safe mode? Check out my TagWorld page to get an idea of what you can do.

And what made you think I didn’t have any of that Asian persuasion in me?

  4. Dean says:

No i was editing in Normal Mode, had to edit in safe mode so i could even use my Profile again.Because if i went to edit profile it went ONTO the Profile.

In the end i got it to work a little bit,not really though, the old profile still was under it.

I have been on myspace since late 2003 probably… almost 3 years, back before chat, and music players, and all that jive… I still haven’t bought into the hype!

  7. LinkinJunior says:

    thank you Derek.

  8. Derek says:

Dean you need to clear out all your previous code. It’s pushing your default profile out the sides of the profile. The friends aren’t next to each other because the images you used aren’t he same width as the ones I used in the template. You need to edit to match or manually tweak the stylesheet to make room for wider images.

You’ll have to Google for MySpace DIV comments. I don’t like comments on the page so they’re not included in the tutorial. You can still view all your comments. All the necessary links are in the HTML. Make sure you look through everything and edit whatever is needed.

  9. Dean says:

Well i will maybe try it later again…even though im not a big fan of costumizing a myspace to the extreme as i hate if too much stuff is on a site…just takes longer to load.

Thanks for the guide though, its nice.

And your tagworld is nice also!

  10. TB says:

The links to download the code or read the tutorial seem to be down. Is this temporary or is there another site where I can read your articles? Thanks.
