YIKES!!! I’m not sure what that looks like: The drone that Darth Vader used in StarWars, Robocop (pardon the pun), or something out of Transformers.

This video recorder hanging in Brooklyn (Knickerbocker Ave & Starr St), is the first of 500 more to come in NYC’s new $9 million video surveillance project, dubbed “Ring of Steel.”

Anyone else find this disturbing?

This thing needs a serious makeover, how can anyone warm up to something called “Ring of Steel.”

    Yeah, it looks pretty unwieldy, but that might be the idea. No one can miss it. I don’t think its purpose has anything to do with people “warming up to it”. It’s a law enforcement tool, not a puppy.

    It reminds me of that crazy giant robot from Robocop for some reason.
