How-To: Webaroo your favorite internet content
This post was published 3 years 10 months ago which may make its actuality or expire date not be valid anymore. This site is not responsible for any misunderstanding. The latest buzz around the net and mainstream media is an upstart by the name of Webaroo. An interesting name for a service which aims at providing internet users with a means to search and explore their favorite content minus any real net connection.

Using what Webaroo calls “web packs”, users can search the net as though they are actually connected to the net. Using Webaroo as a local server, users can specify what type of content should be accessible without a net connection. Webaroo conveniently offers a collection of pre built web packs for users to get started with. If you’re interested in creating your own web pack, it’s as simple as clicking ‘add website’ in the top right corner of the screen.
Naturally, we couldn’t go a day without UNEASYsilence right? Let’s get started.
- After completing the Webaroo installation, visit Webaroo by right-clicking on the task tray icon and selection ‘Open Webaroo’.
- In the top right corner of the screen, select ‘add website’.
- Under ‘Name’, enter UNEASYsilence. ‘URL’ enter http://uneasysilence.com.
- Depending on how in depth you wish Webaroo to crawl, adjust the link depth accordingly. Because I prefer to read through to the linked content on UNEASY, I chose ‘1′. Entering ‘0′ will limit Webaroo to the specified URL only.
- For images we’ll select include. And finally for ‘Domain filter’ we’ll select download all links. Who really wants to hit a brick wall when following content on UNEASY.
- Finally, select ‘Add to my library’.
After instructing Webaroo to add the pack to your library, a progress meter will display allowing you to keep tabs on the download progress. That should do it. You can now view the web pack minus any real internet connection on your laptop or mobile phone. Get our UNEASY fix while you’re away from a connection.
Before anyone chimes in with how Webaroo is no different from downloading an entire web page using one of the many website download utilities, keep in mind that Webaroo is attempting to download only the essential bits and pieces of the net and prepackaging the packs for average users.
