Anyone remember that battery icon?
thats a Firewire icon isnt it?
You are correct.
indeed it is a firewire icon. that battery icon looks like a konfabulator widget that i used to use. wait.. maybe it was a dashboard widget?
Well, it would be handy to know your battery status if you were in T mode and not connected to power. Assuming it refers to a MBP of course; if that’s on an iMac it’s just silly.
i’ve never seen him before in my life
I think it was Konfabulator…
Something like http://widgets.yahoo.com/gallery/view.php?widget=38228
Yeah, I remember that from Konfabulator. Strange…
Is this on a MacBook Pro or what?
This is Target disk mode on ANY Intel Mac.
Also, YES it was a Konfab widget, buts its origination was from System 10.0 – That was Apples official battery meter. It vanished in 10.1
Someone was lazy and didn’t think it necessary to remove the battery icon from desktops. Tsk tsk. Inconsistency I would not have expected from Apple.
Yes, yes, I remember it well from the 10.0 days.. I mourned it’s loss with the advent of 10.1, but I soon got over it :P (Same way I got over the loss of the floppy drive in the original iMac.. sometimes change is a good thing ;))
I sorta liked it in my dock instead of on the bar. but you can resurrect it from 10.0 and i think it still works.
