Treo users there may be a Skype option for you

The Treo arguably has been the hottest smartphone this year, impressing even Wallstreet. I don’t understand WHY major developers ignore the PalmOS.

Such cool applications, such as SlingMobile and Skype, have NO PLANS to ever release a Palm client. This upsets me!

However, Eqo is working on a work around that will allow Skype to work on almost any phone.

EQO is all about letting you stay connected even when you’re away from your computer. Skype is great, but whenever you walk away from your computer it’s pretty hard to make and receive calls to and from your Skype buddies. EQO extends Skype to your mobile phone, allowing you to be connected with your Skype contacts wherever you go. With EQO, you can take your buddies with you.

The only catch is that they are still developing a Palm client, if you REALLY desire Skype on your mobile, sign the petition on their site below.

I don’t think you need to have skypeout to use EQO if you are just using the IM function. But if you want to make a call then from your mobile, then definitely need Skypeout.
