LiTraCon: The end of hide and seek

Light transmitting concrete [via]. That’s the latest “design” buzz floating around the net. The effect is achieved by mixing fiber optics with concrete allowing light to be pass through the material.

Now the real question is whether or not the LiTraCon [light transmitting concrete] works one way or two way. I can understand the benefits of having light from the outside being transmitted indoors, but what about at night when the light source is behind the wall transmitting out towards the outside?

    Well, they are actually putting it into a house http://www.litracon.hu/projects_hausfuersleben_en.htm, but only on the interrior walls, so maybe that is becuase it transmitts two ways, who knows
