Yesterday we posted a video about How to install Windows XP on an Intel Mac, but it was posted at iPod resolution. Now a 640×480 version is up and in higher quality. You can either directly download it now or get it via the Feed [iTunes].

Enjoy!

Sir – you are running windows… Windows needs drivers for EVERYTHING!

On the MacOS side of things, dowload these drivers:

Burn it to a CD – Reboot into windows, and run the installer…. then you have ethernet

    Fantastic!

The ethernet driver installed fine & I cabled the winXP iMac into an AirPort Express.

Now I can connect to the internet and other computers on the wireless net.

    Thanks for the help!

Dloaded driver from HP & got Deskjet 5700 running local– no luck setting up as shared on the same AirPort Express that is connected via ethernet.

I Dloaded iTunes– it installed fine, but there are no sound drivers…

    Office 97 installs fine.

Office 2000, not so mch– looks for SQL Server to run Access.

WinXP runs a lot faster than I have experienced (older PCs and VPC 6 & 7)

Macs are sure a lot easier!!!

can you do the reverse running mac os on intel window

  8. andrew says:

I one of those lucky fellow that has a new Intel mac. My problem is that the hard disk is full (nearly). Can I do the old trick of putting the whole of my mac OS on a target firewire disk then reformat the internal disk to XP. Or do I need to have both OS’s on the internal disk with any extra data stored externally.
Finally would I need to dual format the firewire drive to accept both windows and Mac data?

Hi Great stuff on here. Just a question, was this ever possible with a power pc mac. If so could you PLEASE give me a link or throw me a bone to get started with this thanks in advance.

doc you might want to check this post for running multiple os’s on osx (pre-intel). mind you the performance may be lacking.

  11. Doc says:

Thanks Derek, I have Vpc7 and it is so darn slow tring to do anything. Windows was booted on an intel mac in a short amount of time (2months). So all the years power pc was around no one booted windows, not 2000 or even 98. If that is true why not, I mean that seams like more of a challenge than intel macs. Any thoughts out there!!! Please let’s do this…
