How do primetime commercial spots for $18 sound?

Don’t believe me? Spot Runner is set out to do just that!

Spot Runner has created a media-buying application that seeks out cheap ad slots on networks such as the Outdoor Life Network, CNN and AMC and then books them for small and medium-size businesses. The company also gives its clients relatively generic ads that can be slightly customized, so they don’t have to create their own spots. #

Primetime advertising for small businesses has become a lot more realistic. Gone are the days of big budgets and savvy agents. The next time small business owners are shopping online for miscellaneous office items, adding a short TV commercial will be like adding staplers and pens to their shopping basket.

Any thoughts on the new Spot Runner service? I for one know that late night television is littered with ho-hum ads which make me question how experienced the director was (or if one was present to begin with). With prime clients such as Coldwell Banker, will big budget ad spots be a thing of the past?
